lowering blocks

Hi I want to bring the rear of my van down a couple of inches does anyone make lowering blocks or have you guys n girl's made your own n shackles
Also I want to update the rear shocks can the standard ones be replaced with mini shocks or lowered beetle ones cheers
My mate has offered to help me fit an anti roll bar off a land rover to the rear axle has this been done before cheers

Awkward to do as the axle sits under the springs:I People have 'flipped' the axle(fitted spring mounts under the axle) but this drops it way too much so you have to make longer shackles to raise it - which isn't a great idea because of the extra forces put on the shackles and mounts. The only satisfactory way is to go 5 link, but it's a big job.

take two of the 3 big thick leaves out of the springs, they are only needed when its fully loaded and should give you a inch and a half drop

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.

A plan has been decided on at last gonna remove the stock shocks and bottom 3 leafs fit a pair of coilovers and a anti roll bar when I find one the right width for the chasis rails and thick enough to do its job well
So it be a couple of inches lower stiffer and lost a lot of its wobble

Before you scrap the old Armstrong dampers try re-filling them with heavier oil, SAE 40 or even better SAE 50 - they are originally filled with SAE 20 so it will make a big difference. Don't use multi grade oil but straight 40 or 50, I think they use it in lawnmowers and compressors. You can use motorbike fork oil but it's expensive. The Morris Minor boys swear by it and supposed to improve things dramatically, I've just got a front pair for my Moggie, I've filled them with SAE 30 (because I had some) just waiting to fit them and see what happens.

It works[8D] Much better ride, so it should work on a Commer.

SAE 50 is the oil I use in my Harley Davidsons and its not that expensive ,great tip panky - thanks
