Whats the chances of this being tax exempt?

A word of caution on using unknowns off sites like shiply, from experience I now only use people recommended and be there to receive the vehicle.
I had a car a few years ago I needed moving and used an outfit who's quote was the cheapest. A mate wanted me to help him move an engine that night so I asked if he'd unload it in my yard and i'd be along later to move it inside.
During the evening I got a call from my wife who'd got the police at the door, the car had been found in a ditch. The wife was virtually in tears as she didn't what i'd been driving that day. He claimed he'd delivered it and it'd been nicked, the fact his broken ratchet straps were still attached to it and the engine was seized made me think it'd fell off his lorry. But I couldn't prove anything and the police weren't interested. The car was a write off and it cost me the price of the delivery then another £200 for the pleasure of the police having it recovered.

Partly my own fault I know, I won't be that trusting in the future.

I viewed it over the weekend and decided against it. Needs a lot of work, been sat under a leaky roof for years, rear right hand side was completely shot, and the roof fairly close behind it. Other areas looked good, front doors ok, and underside looked good. Looks to me like a full strip down and re-build, not the quick clean up job some were hoping for. Having said that where else are you going to get a fairly complete original one?

£1.00 p/mile one way ( really 50p p/mile because you have to come back or return to base!) does`nt even cover the cost of fuel these days. Anyone who quotes that price is either not properly insured for hire and reward work, running on red diesel or heating oil or is prepared to work all day for free.quote:

Looks well worth investigating. No stone unturned and all that.]

For transport base it on £1 a mile one way and you won't be far off. Long distance may work put a little less, but it's a good basis to work out finances.

Bloody Commer`s!

My built-for-purpose fully insured rig only breaks even at £1.65 per mile (82p each way)....Pay much less then something isnt right or the driver isnt taking a wage.

Cheers

Well said.
I had someone nearly fall off his chair tonight because I quoted £600 for an 870 mile round trip that would have taken 2 days to complete...he thought it would have cost about £300!!!!!

Bloody Commer`s!

Some people don't have a clue, it would cost the best part of £300 in fuel[B)]
