I have a standard petrol cap, but not locking. We don't have a 'club' as such. By joining the forum, you are already one of the chosen few, welcome [8D]

Hi Bill, welcome to the madhouse :Dthere is no club as such just this forum :)but we have had a few meets which have got bigger each time.the first one two campers turned up,the second one 6 turned up & the most recent one 8 vans in total.sure some one might be able to help with the fuel cap.good luck finding one, ebay is sometimes usefull for finding parts.Do you have any pic's ?

Try this:

www.1stchoice.co.uk This site, once you join for free, will search lots of scrap dealers for you and reply by e-mail or text if they have what you are looking for. :D:D:D Worth a try!!;)

Hi Bill, welcome to the forum - you already passed the entry exam when you said hello here;). Look forward to hearing more about and hopefully seeing your commer.

Locking filler caps seem to be a bit of a holy grail, have been keeping an eye out for a friend who lost his when if fell off after putting petrol in, if I find any, I'll let you know. Have a magic scrappie fairly near here with some 70s stuff but keys/barrels could be a problem.

Fascinated to hear of sun causing petrol to come back up filler pipe - is the flexi cap vented o.k.? if vapour is trapped could this be pressurising tank and pushing petrol back out? definitely sounds worth running on half a tank for while. Sorry to hear of your paintwork suffering, hope not too bad for you.

THANKS TO ALL FOR REPLYING TO MY POST!

LIKE TO UPLOAD SOME PICS, HOW CAN I DO THIS?
SORRY BUT NEVER USED 1 OF THESE FORUM'S BEFORE
ALSO LOVE TO COME TO THE NEXT MEET, IS IT JUST A CASE OF CHECKING THE FORUM OR WEBSITE TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY WILL BE

Advice on way of putting pics on under this link
http://66.129.69.181/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=91

but if you have problems then would be happy to put a few up for you if you can email them to me on [email protected]

Just follow chat for details of meetings, think next venue is still to be decided.

Hi Bill, I had the same problem with fuel rising up the filler neck on a hot day. I had just repaired the floor in the corner where the fuel pipe comes through and managed to kink the vent pipe [xx(] The fumes couldn't escape and the tank became pressurised. Worth checking to see if yours has the same problem.

Yori has been having breather pipe issues too and was p&*sing petrol out just the other day and it aint that hot! maybe a new breather is in order? She wasn't filling up very easily at all

if you all bought a fantabulous alloy tank from me you wont have these problems :D
