look at my van

I haven't got any in my van, but I would like some, www.justcampers.co.uk have bunks for sale which are 2m long (hence the request for a measurement) If they are no good then I need to think about making some.

They look good will measure for you and if your lucky will take a photo or two as they are well clever, they taper at the rear so that they allow u to still stand up .....I love the autosleeper layout.

was in royston the other day for my work, i was installing a gas cook line in a school. yes meet up would be great a weekend would be better for me, as i work during the week. email me for my phone number ...

The bunks are clever,Rans are also enclosed into boxes they pack right away when not in use are any one elses in boxes?

yes design is excelent my bunks r in a box aswell. good job I have 3 kids. weekend meet sorry your in huntingdon aren't u. just done 2 boiler installs at hinchingbrooke
 
I couldn't remember the set up on Harvey so I just had to go and have a look. No fancy boxes on him just a long, high shelf with a deep edging - must be a cheapo version [V] Ideal for fishing rods :D

What are the little sticks of wood for on the just below the poptop?

Did anyone manage to measure the bunks for me ?

If you mean what I think you mean, little sticks (pivoted at one end where they attach at front and back on lower edge of roof woodwork) are props so that you can have your roof side panel angled backwards for ventilation for hot days and over indulgence in baked beans:I.
Will see if I can get photos of them in action if this would help - and have woodwork and bunk from my old van with dimensions for bunk fitting (I had one canvas bunk which was parallel with side of roof)

hi Ray good to see you again, the van looks good in the pics. yeah we did speak last year, if you remember i was living in my camper as i was seperating with the wife. :-( not living in van now though nor did i have to through the winter, but it was a great 3 months living in different places every night and actin like a gypsy, mind you i didnt let me standards down i had everything i needed just couldnt keep up with the latest TV...
 
Yes that's right...thought it was your van. Ralph looks surperb, an autosleeper like ours. The photo's you sent me came in handy for fitting my previously removed corner bumpers. Plus I liked your colour scheme, not just the colours but also the two-tone paint dividing line.. i.e. where to put it. I know many original Commers have it around the middle, But I think it looks better a bit higher below the window line. Plus the rear doors continue the line easier. Anyway glad to hear you are getting sorted. Hope to meet up this year. Cheers Ray

thanks for the roof rack love. the previous owner had found someone with a garage full of parts and he had procured that and the hammocks, sun visors and new sink top from a deluxe. rack was originally galvanized colour and prvious owner colour coded it red, its well useful, when we are out and about it carries all-sorts in a water proof bag, as well as the barbQ and seats, and "for looks only petrol can in red". it used to have a goped until someone nicked it while i was sleeping...
 
Hi Lancelot, this is the first time i've seen ralph, and what a great looking van, it's even made me warm to the red/cream colour scheme :eek: ! We're also big fans of the roofrack! nice one
