Lodestar 2012

Hi all.

http://www.lodestarfestival.com/

It's still quite a long way off (31st August to 2nd September) but i thought I'd put something up here now as I think the tickets get more expensive the closer it gets.

It's only a small music festival, at a place called Lode, near Cambridge, but it has a really nice chilled out atmosphere. Only £45 for the weekend including camping and entrance to the arena (the camping is a field with portaloos, but they are very clean!).

We went last year - http://66.129.69.181/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6078&SearchTerms=lodestar

Not sure if I managed to do the link to the thread about the festival last year, but if not, just search for "Lodestar" in meets and shows.

Would be good to see some of you there if you could make it. There were only two Commers there last year and the darksiders outnumbered us!

looks really small, what is the feeling of the festival, does it welcome all ages and types, is it hippy or family or just music

Hi Lancelot.

It is a small festival. Very family friendly, and last year it seemed to have a really mixed crowd, with a few hippies thrown in for good measure. There were stalls, music, food, and things for kids like archery and zorbing.

We've been the last two years. First year was tiny but seemed to have grown quite a bit last year and I think there's a comedy tent this year. Don't get me wrong, it ain't Glastonbury but we go with a small group of friends and have enjoyed it both times. Just a nice place to spend a (relatively) chilled out weekend.

Very relaxed atmosphere. Everyone just seemed to let everyone get on with whatever they were doing.

Thought I'd bump this up, just in case anyone fancies it. Prices for tickets have gone up a bit though.
