Lead additives

Does anyone have experience or knowledge on the lead replacement things you chuck in a fuel tank? Someone was also telling me about an inline gizmo but I’ve not been able to find any info about them.

Forget the inline thing and the sack of balls you're supposed to put in the tank - they so absolutely nothing. The manufacturers claim all sorts but it's all a con. I don't bother with liquid additive either, I know of a couple of people who have used it meticulously only to have serious valve and seat problems and many who have used none and have had no problems. Lots of people swear by it but unless you are doing high mileage or towing a caravan I wouldn't bother.

You'll find it on the same shelf as pixie dust, sky hooks, long weights and left handed screwdrivers....

I was a bit dubious about it. I did buy some genuine rocking horse poo though from the same place

Depends on your mileage but it may not even be worth bothering with additive?

Just check the valve clearances every few thousand miles to check they are not closing up
