I've bought a new indicator stalk for Frodo. The old one had indicators, horn on the end, push forward for main beam (when the headlights were on), and temp pull back for main beam flash.
The new one has indicators, horn, but only temp pull back for high beam, no forward position for dipped/main. So I need to use a latching relay to control dipped/main, but also want to have the ability to flash the main beam, when the headlights are not turned on. This means, that the high and low beam of the headlights need to be on seperate circuits (otherwise you would have both high and low on at the same time if you made the connection).
I've had a little think, and reckon the circuit below will do what I want...
I'm using a 5A latching relay (DPDT) to power two automotive relays (SPST) so the low beam will be normally on, and the high beam normally off. If I latch the switch, this will reverse.
It's been years since I did any electronics like this, so can someone tell me if I am right, or barking up the wrong tree!
