Hi, and welcome to the forum! We live in Alton, about an hour to the west of London (As does Admin)and have used a couple of local garages here. One of the problems we have found with small garages is the commers don't fit on their standard ramp, so they have to use their MOT ramp, meaning they can't be doing MOT's and working on the commer! What needs doing? It would be good to get an idea of how much work you are talking about.
Hi guys, sorry been out of the country and haven't checked the replies! We've got ourselves a lovely 1968 Wanderer. The breaks seem to be be the problem. There was quite a big imbalance on the MOT. Not sure what has caused it. We're down in South east London/kent, so any where around this area would be good for a garage. Cheers.

My MOT guy just got me to do some heavy braking several times then re-checked the brakes. Each time the imbalance got better until after about the fifth time it was within limits. Basically we need to be a bit harder on the brakes, braking later and harder so they stay in balance. All this being gentle with the old buses doesn't always do them good!

The Colonel had problems with brake balance turn out front hubs had previously been put back on wrong sides!

just for once i totally agree with Baz ...when I took Tigger for an MOT, he hadn't been used for a while, but on the journey there, I braked as hard as I could, whenever I could and this defo helps balance them....Tigger scored a 'perfect' but was pulling all over the place when I first set off

Basically just give the brakes a good old hammering! It all makes sense to be honest. I've had the van parked up over winter and with this tedious bad weather haven't used her much since.
I'll check out the couple of garage recomendations for future jobs as well.
