Nice, needs sorting now before those rust patches develop.

I am not a person, I am a number, 395 actually......Be seeing you!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

I like it, very functional inside but a space you could live in for a long time:)

An enlightening article on the 350 chev diesel :-

The simpler the betterer...

I had one of those Olds 350 diesels installed in my Range Rover in 1992 and it was a brilliant motor. Did just under 200,000km with that motor before selling the car. It did blow a head gasket once and I have no idea of how many Km it had done before I bought it. I had worn out 2 Rover V8's prior and was luck to pick up the complete conversion cheap from a guy wanting to go convert to Chev 350 petrol. Fuel economy was the key reason, I used to do 80,000km+ a year in those days. I used to struggle to better 16mpg when loaded on the open road with the Rover motor, the Olds easily would get 24mpg as it just didn't have to work as hard. With the 120 litre long range fuel tank I could drive from Sydney to Brisbane on the one tank. It was great off road with the additional weight over the front wheels and would just idle over most obstacles. The LT95 Range Rover 4 speed coped with the torque, though strengthened shafts were fitted as a precaution to the centre diff's pinion gears as they were know to break when off road in low range with 350 Chev's.

Best thing was it used to confuse people as being a V8 diesel, the exhaust sounded like a Range Rover on the move, it sounded like an Leyland bus at idle and of coarse it left a trail of black smoke under heavy acceleration. I miss that car, we had 12 years of adventures all over country NSW and Queensland.

Cheers Stephen
