Sharp lips now blended in as radius,s [^]
Really terrible ports as STD quite a bit of carbon up the inlet port which points to reversion due to restrictive exhaust port[V]. Concentrating my efforts mostly on the exhaust side, as it,s more important with a blown motor :)

Most mass produced heads are like it. Not cost effective for them to hand blend things in, so it,s cast-machined and sent out as is, not even de-burred.

Chrysler short cuts?
Back in 1971, I think, they decided that by not putting a rubber washer under the washer jets on Imps the company would save a whole 1 penny per car....so they did away with them!quote:

when Tim sent me to collect an internal engine part from an engineers won't name & shame there was a fairly large bit in it that would of caused more damage! crank & piston iirc ? worth examining these things!

The main difference is around the valve seat area, which is the critical point for flow. The polishing is to get rid of sharp edges and create a smoother surface to reduce detonation :)

Nice set of ARP 8740 chrome-moly head studs and exceedingly expensive Cometic head gaskets installed :)
