Katy, Freshly rescued

Looks a hell of a lot like a Devon roof off a VW [xx(]

How is my summary of the van shaping up?

quote:
Passenger Cab floor needs replacing, didn't see the drivers side but I imagine it is the same.
Rot above the lettering on front panel, looks like holes.
Roof Peak underneath is rusty and rotten in places around the gutter edge, solid against the top of the windscreen.
Roof is pretty good apart from a few rust patchs and holes to sort out. Also has one of the straightest gutter lines that I have seen on a Commer!
Same with the gutters, side panels and cones, patches here and there.
Rear panel around the number plate needs replacing.
Bottom of the side panels and side fluted panels is pretty much rotten all the way from front to back. I think the steps were the same.
Cab doors are pretty rotten at the bottoms and need sorting, but the back ones were pretty good.
Chassis seemed to be pretty good from what I saw of it, unfortunately the floor is covered in lino and I couldn't get a really good look at the rear floor.

Engine runs pretty well, sounds ok and nothing a miss (even has the starting handle)

Any help at all, just give me a shout ;)

sounds like a pretty typical commer project to me. i like this one, i bid on it but lost lol. dont suppose you know the paint code for the cream on top do you?

@ Woolfy, will definately be on for some panels in the near future (any discount on bulk orders [;0)]

@ Bazil, you know her better than me! the side panels and gutter are very good, leaf spring (bearer?) off side rear nearly gone.not sure about rear floor as not stripped out yet arches look a bit dodgy from what I can see though, Is the poptop not original then? (rubbers and roof light all need replacing or should it be a new/proper roof?) Will certainly give you a shout for tips/help.
@ Paul, haven't got a clue on paint code, thought it was just white gone off! she has had a brush job in the past so perhaps it was done with whatever was in the shed at the time :p

No it's Scott Scott, well not Scott Scott, but Scott.....erm...Scott. Will explain another time chap;)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!

Don't worry! it's all good :p

The main thing is removing that bloody headliner that the previous owner was so proud of, reminds me of a padded coffin ;)

Dont look to bad to me its just rotten in all the normal commer places. As long as you have a mig welder some sheet steel and you can weld she will be on the road in no time;)
