just a big hello to to any new members

Ive driven classics for many yrs .My NCB ran out yrs ago,so theres no going back..unless I want to start more or less at the bottom of the insurance ladder again !To me modern stuff is a nightmare when you lift the bonnet and see a range of plastic covers on everything.

for those that don't have a classic policy, you generally don't earn no claims with a classic policy.i would not even want to look under the bonnet of a modern vehcicle.have you had any luck selling the merc ?

Trouble is the 'real' classics, proper cars with carbs and character, are getting older [V]. Sometimes you get an exception to the rule, one that has survived intact but in general they have either been restored or need restoring. When I took my camper off the road it was just another old banger but now all of a sudden it's a cool surf bus. How peoples perceptions shift. I know exactly how you feel Rad but things will come full circle again, in ten years Reliant Robins and Allegros will probably be the in thing and we can return to blissful bangerdom again with prices to match. I myself achieved old git status a while ago but I said 'sod that' and decided to grow my hair wear baggy cloths and get stuck into the resto thing again (getting stuck in for me is a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon). I can't wait to drive my camper down to the beach in a couple of years time and for all the kids to say 'who's the old fart with the pony tail in the cool surf bus':D[8D]:D
Be patient and the right one will come along, there's more to life than ebay. Surfs up dude [8D]

hi panky, reliant robins & allegros did you miss something??delboys sold recently for how much 40,000???i had a reliant!kids loved it...have you been on reto rides lately???oh is that whats happening, old git status does that explain why my hairs getting long!!"ran" turned up in my hour of need, about 3 months after i started looking :D:)[^]

Ah but Delboys is a Reliant Regal not a Robin and is a true icon. I wouldn't be surprised if you had managed to convince your kids that your Robin was a Lotus that had been narrowed hence their enthusiasm, after all they are both plastic :)

My Merc is one of those classic survivors ,but because of this it appears to be too expensive for punters, hence not being able to sell it easily . I think Im going thro one of those bored with everything phases at the mo'!

Chin up, we'll try and keep you entertained. Not all contributors to this forum offer the kind of drivel I produce, you may even get some good advice from the more sober types :) Hope I haven't put you off with my ramblings over the last couple of nights :I
