Joggler's got a tickley chest

In need of some pointers...

I keep getting a slight chugging feel when driving (like the engine is choking) that quickly gets worse, can simply fix the problem with a quick blow down the vacuum pipe (which by the looks of it nothing actually comes out) I bought a new pipe yesterday which I thought solved the problem as it was running smooth and ticking over nicely. But then on the way home today had the same trouble.

Any tips would be helpful [)]

I'm wondering if it'd the vacuum advance on the dizzy - take the dizzy cap off and suck on the vac pipe. You should see the plate move smoothly as you suck and then slip back when you stop. If it doesn't the return spring might be bust.

If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

Hi Jonny, welcome along. from the description i would say the vacume advance is not working correctly. The diaphram could be perished or the return spring streched or broken. The mechinism in the dizzy might be full of crud and sticking. Try a squirt of WD40.

or wot Baz says...

My Commer goes!!!!!!!
