One campervan relocating to Norway, Andrea. :)

I know it looks like crossing a brook on the map, but I can tell you they make it complicated - and expensive ! So it needs to be planned.

So Britain is saying partly-goodbye to one of its Commers, and Norway is gaining a vehicle nobody knows what is :D

Sounds great!!! Although can relate to the cost of sea transport over here especially with the cost of shipping between the Australian Mainland and Tasmania, big exception is not as complicated as over your way by the sounds like it, .. no passports etc required here for sea travel between the Mainland & Tas here.
Good luck & have a great journey especially getting your new van.

sounds great jostein ;)shame it is leaving the uk but at least we still have Brian :Dare you making a holiday of it ? I notice only 2 ticket ;)

Has Jostein left Martin's yet?

Should we be out Highwayman spotting:D

Moley and Brian the Snail :)

I just spoke to Jostein - and he was still at Martins!

I'll let him fill the details in himself.

I love a Commer adventure!

After a false start due to fuel problems and a failed rotor arm, he is finally on his way :I Left about 8.15 tonight, hoping to get in a few miles before tomorrow. Sails from Harwich around 6.30pm.

Good ole Jostein. He should have stopped off here for the night with a warm bed and hot food;-) Were not far from Peterborough! Oh well, safe travels onwards fella.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!

Ha !

I'm sitting on the ferry top Denmark, typing like a madman to get a few notes down before the gale force wind hit us (or the waves, more correctly). Should be pretty heavy sea in about an hour, I think its pretty wobbly already.. :( (smiley feeling sick)

Well, after a catalogue of mishaps, I was finally off from Martin and Karen's at 8.15pm yesterday. That was more or less exactly 24hrs after the Bluebird started to play up when Martin was about to pick me up in York. Cutting a long story short, fuel and ignition problems wrecked most of Martin's Thursday, which I feel very sorry for. But, on the other hand, it was nice to get it all sorted and not losing hundreds of pounds on non-refundable ferry tickets.

Got to somewhere-north-of Peterborough last night, and parked up about 1130pm. Continued this morning and got fuel supply problems again near the Suffolk border. One call to Martin fixed that :) Thanks, Mr Maltas.

Managed to get to Harwich on time for boarding (with some time to spare) after annoying fellow motorists for the best part of 24hrs by doing 45-50mph - when they ideally wanted to go a bit faster..

Some pics before my "pay for one hour internet access" on the ferry is up:

Breakdown near Selby..

Breakdown again...

And again...

But despite ending up having far less time to get from Yorks to Essex than originally allowed for, I got to Harwich International Port on time. What a great feeling!

And the Bluebird is nicely tucked away on the ferry, on its way to Denmark. Bet he's never been there before :)

So - when getting to Denmark tomorrow afternoon, the second leg will start. Another long drive from the bottom to the top of Denmark - and the then next ferry to Oslo. Fingers crossed that everything goes well.

Will report as and when I can get connected to internet again.

Now I'm gonn find that cabin and lie down - hopefully - before I'm sick. This is one rough ride!

Hi Jostein, half way through an epic journey and you can still count the breakdowns on only one hand - that's good:) The van is looking great, how was your first night out proper camping. cheaper than a hotel and much nicer surroundings[^]

And relax

Your breakdowns = great photos for us! Lovely looking van you have, best of luck with the next leg of your trip.
