is it my diff giving low top speed

Hi we have a dodge spacevan and its top speed seems slow it was originaly a crew bus i think, but converted at some time to a camper it will cruise at 40-45. is this the normal speed or has mine a problem the engine seems healthy no bad grumbles or knocks, are there different diff ratios to swap or has anyone any ideas thanks.

I think some of the rear axles fitted to telecom vans were rediculously low, yours may have been swapped out at some time. once upon a time the scrappies were full of old BT metal.

Our PB is most happy at 50-55 engine sounds like it is working too hard at 60 for my liking!

Slightly hijacking the topic does anyone know what difference there may be with the PA and PB diff?

Did the spacevan still have the 1500cc engine option or were they mostly 1725 by then? my old van had 1500cc which was fairly sluggish but geared to climb mountains in.

Bessie happy at 55-60, over that needs a louder stereo:I
