HAHA just had a call offering me an insurance policy.. to cover my excess (£100) in the event of a claim.. insurance on insurance.. nice!
 
i think some of these companies dont want your business and quote a high price to put you off:( and will obviously accept you if you pay the high price[V] either that or they have not got a clue what a commer is:I

Hi Lee I bet you're happy with that price. How long have you been with them and do they do a no claims bonus, a lot of them don't. The price they quoted me was £200.91.quote:

this is the first time ive ever insured a classic, and my first time with them. Ive not insured it for the value I have spent on it, more like the actual market value. I also get salvage rights - once clause is that it must have a fire extinguisher - and there is a discount for being a member of a classic club - this site counts, you just need to quote your membership number

Thanks everyone for the comments. I think with all of them, you have to have another vehicle for daily use. The value I have put down as £20.000 as she has cost me £17.500 so far. One of them would only value at £14.999 because she's not going to be kept in a garage. Last year as you know I was insured with Chaucer but the renewal from them named it as Heritage Norton, not sure what that was about but as both of them have a bad reputation from the members on here, I will give them a miss. I have told them all that I don't want the insurance to start until she is finished so they are all going to send me their quotes in writing.Obviously Footman James is out at the price £549.98 and I think Pete Best is out at £374.94 so anyone had any problems with Pete James or RH
 
Thanks for that Mark, they are the cheapest at £155.72 except for Heritage. Can you remember who they used for breakdown.

cannot remember off hand les:I but its like a green flag sort of thing where they send a company out that closest to you at the time;) i received 1st class service though[^]
