Insurance Please help !?!?!?

I have problems getting modern ins due to previously being biker & only ever had classics,...so no ncb so if I get a modern it is short lived due to tax & insurance I have only been driving since 2003 but not a young driver.Helped that I am a named driver on other person insurance.Also being a member of a club cvf helped
The latest modern was too old for a modern policy so again NCB being earnt!

Rh wont touch me and footman James quoted me £1500 a year but i can only drive 1500 miles so i though , no. I want a parent to insure it and get me on it for about £450 a year :/ but i doubt that will happen :/

Probably not what you want to hear but how about getting a cheap modern runabout to keep you mobile and build up some no claims and clean driving history and spend a year or two sorting out any issues on the Commer? Before you know it you will be a year or two older with a clean record and insurance on the Commer will be more affordable.
