There's the usual suspects like RH Specialists and Peter James but Adrian Flux are well known for young driver insurance.

Not bad but I pay about half that each for Bonnie and Harvey with RH Specialists:)

RH Insurance for me also. They are unbelievably cheap, it cost me about 80 quid for the year which includes break down recovery. Great value considering I live in Central London.

I'm with RH insurance, my renewal including breakdown cover was £80. 3000 minimum miles for the year which is plenty.

Luke it maybe best if mum or dad get insurance with you as named driver ? have Dad buy it for a year or two ? or get yourself an older woman [:0] hope you sort something out,...have a look at young campers thread about smurf iirc

Thankyou everyone iv got the number for footman James which i haven't called yet but they do classic insurance for 18 year olds so i will try them and then RH :) and Chris i did think about it and it may be really cheap so i will look around thanks :) Chris you should stop in one Saturday and have a look iv done a bit since the arrival :)

awaiting the call back from RH - went for a quote and then realised I'm already insured with them on the Dodge, so hopefully a piggy back onto that...lose track of the cars I've got insured!

Young Camper had to sell Smurf to dad -Old Camper- and we found it was cheaper to buy and insure a Morris Minor than any other route into motoring. The cost of the car and insurance was less than modern car insurance quotes-when he was 17. He was insured through the Footman James Minor Owners Club scheme till he had a bump and claim and the premium went right up!He learnt to drive on a Minor and still drives one.
still hopes to drive Smurf when he turns 21 and gets a no claims bonus on his latest policy.

does he earn no claims on a classic policy? or does he have a modern too?

No no claims on the classic policy but 2 years safe driving helped get a cheaper quote on a 1971 Spitfire which did earn a no claims, currently 20 and insured with quick fit on a morris minor modern policy earning NCB
