Inside the block

Here's an interesting pic showing the thickness of the cylinder liner wall thickness. It's about 6-6.5mm on one side and 4-4.5 on the other, so there was some core shift when it was cast. This gives a idea of how much can safely be bored out, about 2-3mm (80-120 thou).
Also note the 1 1/2" deep layer of sediment in the water jacket, probably why it was overheating [xx(]
