Fitting sticking out the top of the aluminium inlet manifold any ideas what is for thanks loads

Vacuum advance for distributor or brake servo takeoff I’d say

It might also be for the air flap in the air filter housing then again mine might be wrong

Yep, vac take off for a servo.

If you don't need it and it's in the way you can fit a blanking plug instead.
