Induction kit

No really, a bit of pipe offcut (exhaust maybe) and a piece of sheet cut and bent to shape then tacked to the pipe - easy:)

Hmm maybe, if you just happen to have a welder....maybe easier to just persuade Martin to sell a bracket lol....from Scotts oint of view I mean:D

Well there's gratitude for you[:0] there's me trying to help out a needy friend, and that's the thanks you get!....charming:I

All i can say is dont bother all you do is loose power i played about with mine today even mounted it behind front grill at one point sounded great with the induction roar but def slower. Found one thing out though the metal part that fits over the venturi on the carb makes a hell of a difference the one on martins pic is the early type the best one to use is the later type is more oval looking and alot bigger seems to make throttle response smoother and feels more powerfull.I took some pics while i was playin about will put them up when i get chance.;)

When modifying inlet and carb stuff you often have to re-tune the carb and sometimes even the ignition timing to optimise the new set-up.

No mater what you set it at with an induction pipe 1 meter long at 2inch dia it really strugles when the engine is under max load going up hill.Trust me ive tried! It may make a difference if you use a bigger bore pipe that tapers down to a 2 inch for the carb venturi conection.Ive got mine running great now ive just clocked another 300 odd miles up in mine and with the new exhaust system ive made up it really does pull well up the hills now i can hold a steady 50mph up a hill now.Feels like stacks more tourque. Most the time i use my van its to do big journeys mostly motorway.I will put a list of the mods on here when i get time. Its doin about 18miles to the gallon sitting at about 55-60mph on the motorway cost me just over 100quid in juice it aint cheap now days!lol Anyone else do long haul journeys in there van?? What miles to the gallon are you doing?

As a test I did 100 miles and brimmed the tank again, it took 20 litres which is over 22 mpg. That was on mixed roads including some motorway with a Rapier engine running electric fan, electric water pump, SU conversion, 1 3/4" straight through exhaust and overdrive. The SU carb conversion is running very rich at the moment so I think I could easily top 25 once its sorted, more if I ease off on the right foot:I

I dread to think what Peggy does! All I know is Watford to Snetterton and back cost me about £60!

Who cares about economy?....i own a Commer/dodge for pure fun and good family times!...I couldn't care less if it did 5 mpg...

compared to a family ticket at Alton Towers for 2 adults 4 kids and then to be confronted with the huge queues for a 2 minute ride there is simply no comparison...

:D:D:D

one of the drawbacks of owning a commer/dodge would be the mpg:( but hey its still great to own one in it[^];)

What I was trying to say is...when you sit down and actually work it out....

mpg X Coolness + fun =(??) divided by happy families = [8D][8D][8][8D][8D]

What was the question???:p:p[)][)][)][)][)]

When I had one as my only car I was a bit obsessed with squeezing out every mpg - the best I ever got was 30 on one fine day with a standard engine.
