Indicator woes

Hi chaps, Please bear with me..Anyone "in the know" with electricals please? My indicators have decided to all come on at once when operated in either direction. My van is a 1980 Dodge Autosleeper and has the later multifunction indicator stalk, with facility for horn, indicators and high beam...possibly washer jets as well but these are now wired to a seperate switch..
The indicators and hazard warning lights appear to be connected to the same 4 pole relay..My hunch is that the fault must be at the stalk end but have had it all off the steering column and each of the "sticky-out" wires/rods that make earth when operated seem to be doing their job independantly...i.e. only one touches it's respective contact at a time...
Something just doesn't ring true with how they look though, they are curled around...I'll try to put a pic up using 'paint' later.
I'll be honest,I'm stumped! Would really appreciate some kind of knowledge, pics, diagrams of the wiring at stalk and relay..I'm afraid I'm a numpty when it comes to electrics so please feel free to speak to me as such:D
Many thanks in advance,Scott

Just a hunch but try disconnecting the hazard flashers and see what happens. Maybe the relay has stuck, give it a tap.

have pulled a wire from the hazard switch but didn't make any difference unfortunately..have also tried another couple of relays but one was just the same and the other just buzzed so assume that was a duffer..to be honest I've had a few hours faffing about, sometimes I get all 4 on,sometimes nowt..am tempted to have a go at putting them on seperate relays and wiring indicators to a switch on the dash..only drawback is I'm not sure which wires go to which poles on the relays:I

See if Martin Maltas or Speedies do a replacement - even if it didn't work it would be easier to trace the fault knowing you have a good relay.

This is something else that has been niggling away at me foot pump does any one have any diagrams of it how it works ?pulled one apart ? easy to fix?:(

thanks guys..had a mate have a look today and he has kinda sorted it..took all wiring off hazard switch and then they worked but opposite way round! swapped the wires round at the plug and indicators all good..suspect that hazard switch is at fault/wrongun..

My hazards cock up the indicators as well.

If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

Aaah..Prob is mines a 1980 bus so reckon that the hazards are an MOT issue..no biggy for this year tho'..will have to have another look in the winter before next test..

I blew a flasher relay last night :(
Confused one of the three wires, and connected the live to the wrong side of the microchip - £10 down the drain, but a new one should be here tomorrow! :)
