In the workshop

Well my commer has been delivered to my mates workshop yesterday for some work including, new rear floors, brake overhall, rear axle lowered a bit, body work welding and paint job. I will try and go down regular and take pics of it as it transforms from ugly ducking to lovely swan. Wish me luck.

Luck - you won't need it, just patience;)

I have a good crew on it, my mates dad is a fabricator, he's making the panels for it. My mate is a first class welder and i'm making the tea and supplying the biscuits so hopfully it will all go well. Not sure how long it will take, it the can of worms thing again. May be getting rid of my wheels don't know yet, they are chrome rover p5 rostyles modded to fit commer, might be putting back onto power coated original wheel not decided yet.

If you go to any of his posts the shortcut to his website is on his signature at the bottom. You can also find it on the home page.

Good luck with it all but sounds in capable hands to me. If you do change the Rover wheels please let me know, could be interested in them.

Yeah i Know, I,ve not took the front screen out yet, which i think is biggest area to be repaired. I will be calling at Martins to pick up some bits in the next couple of weeks so have started to make a list, hopefully i've got enough paper to finish the list. I will try and get some pics this week of progress.

So can anyone help, i am trying to remove quarter light windows from doors. I know one of you guys most have done this before. Camper all rubbed down. Need to place an order with Martin for some panels when i get time.

There are two or three screws on the front of the door screen frame securing the quarter-light to it. As well as removing these you will need to drop the door glass and move the runner that divides the quarter-light and door glass out of the way, there should be a bracket inside the door holding the lower part of the runner. It's been a while since I've done it but I seem to remember you prise out the top section of the glass runner first then it's possible to move the dividing section away from the quarter-light. Hope this will give you an idea.
Remember the quarter-light seals are irreplaceable so treat them with care:I

Thanks Mate, i will have a go to get windows out when i get time. The driver side one seem to flap about a bit at the bottom so need to look what is going wrong with that. Been in touch with Martin and ordered some panels and stuff, hopfully get them at the end of the month. MOT ran out on saturday, but will wait til its painted before i take it.

You'll probably find the window runner has rotted out low down, same thing happened on Harvey:I Makes it easier to get out:)
