It's so good to see someone looking after the Imps. Sally and Myself each had one, and have fond memories of our Imps. A new exhaust every year, fan belts turning inside out, overheating, terminal understeer..........and fun, fun, fun.
I drove mine like an idiot, and understeered it into a gatepost in Yorkshire. There was nothing else to do but rebuild it and go circuit racing! (1973?) 1000cc short stroked, Wills rings, lightened and balanced, twin forties, 10500RPM redline. Aluminium panels all round, Viva discs to help me stop. We never won a thing, and could just about compete with the 850 class, but after a few good laps it was just the greatest feeling.
Long live the Imps! I'll see if I can turn out some pics one day.
