Has anybody got a diagram or picture of where the idle screw is?Percy doesnt live with us so its not a case of just going outside to tinker.

If you go to the site homepage in 'Mechanical hints and tips' there is the servicing manual for the Zenith carb, it shows where the idle screw is in diagram and picture. Hopefully yours is a Zenith :)

The best advice IMO, if you can afford it, is to junk the original carb and buy a Weber kit off Speedyspares. It literally transforms the performance of the vehicle and gives greater economy. I was stunned when i fitted mine, I thought there'd been an engibe swap. The Zenith is a piece of rubbish IMO.
 
IMHO the Zenith idle screw seems more threotical than actual, same with the mixture I've found

I also discovered to my slight surprise that fitting a new electronic distributor smoothed the idle out.
