I GOT IT!

am sure you'll get the hang of things drivingwise quickly commer girl - feels a bit strange at first but as long as you allow a little longer to stop and a little longer to get going you can't go far wrong and before you know it it seems weird jumping in something modern;) getting out & about will soon show you all the quirks :)

oh & yes, .....PICS PLEASE!!!!!!:p:p:p:D:D:D

I am glad you said that about the little longer to stop studiocommer, as i was slightly worried, but what happens if someone suddenly pulls out on you (as they so often do in London)?

Still want someone to look it over just to put my mind at ease.

bring it up here to coventry commers and we will look at the brakes for you.if anything needs replacing we can do it.;)

Right here we go, fingers crossed [:x] tried to show all the bad bits too (i don't know why as its not as if i am trying to sell her?!)

I second that. Just make sure you're happy with the mechanicals for now, worry about the body later - she looks great as she is.

Have you got any interior shots for us?? :p

P.S. I like the little padlock on the rear doors :D

yes you can suffer from the idiots pulling out last minute but you soon develop 'muppet radar' and anticipate them in advance - and you're generally not going fast enough to worry too much about slowing down again [)]:D

enjoy your new wheels - am glad to hear chassis got through recent mot - that would have been more imminent to sort out - yes your bodywork is gonna need some woolfy/martin love and attention soon but the sun is shining and sky is blue - go for it girl [8D]

Can any mechanic fit parts on a Commer or do you need a vintage car specialist (i am talking about bodywork)

And i am still waiting for links to anyone local who knows about old vehicles (especially Commmers) who would be able to give Connie the once over for me, i am desperate to take my son away but am too scared to right now!

Thanks guys [:x]

do you know much about where Connie got her MOT? if they've got good reputation and is genuine recently passed MOT then all the safety stuff and any major engine troubles should be covered by that so if you have breakdown cover you're fairly sorted - but if you have a local mechanic recommended then worth a general check up on the basics. Commers mechanically fairly standard to work on - they may even enjoy the chance to work on something non-electronic for a change. The front wheeled handbrake models can catch a few out but you have us at hand bearing manuals and diagrams if your mechanic of choice needs details ;)

Bodywork wise is an interesting task for a good body shop - yours looks like have more interest lurking under there than some. Take heart though - remember there are replacement panels available from Woolfy & Martin and again we're happy to talk you through tricky bits and notice woolfy now offering mobile welding service:)
