I am making videos of a PB refurb. Here is the first draft of a rear door window frame and hinge mount weld.

I hope I can put another couple of videos together which may be of interest to Commer van fans.
I am getting some advice from a professional film maker to try to improve the quality of the next Commer rebuild video.
If you have any CONSTRUCTIVE criticism or helpful advice I would appreciate it - so I can do a better job with the next video.
I want to point out that I am a qualified welder, but not professional, so I am still learning tricks on a low budget - and having a lot of fun.
Many thanks.

Great results, I never considered filling holes that big with weld (usually just the ones I blow in the repair panels ) but I think I would have a go after seeing your finished product. A good tip I was given is to place a lump of copper behind and gaps while welding as the weld won't stick to it and the copper absorbs some of the heat and reduces the parent metal burning away, I use a piece of flattened copper pipe folded over a couple of times. Probably not for the job you just did but is useful where access can be had to the back of the repair.
As for the video I found it punchy with just the right amount of time between cuts. But don't be camera shy give us a bit of an intro to explain what you are doing - maybe an overall view of the project and a breakdown of the jobs you will be tackling in future vids.

Thanks Panky.
I have a lot to learn about welding different materials - especially metallurgy and managing heat distribution - so good tip.
I am just starting to lay down the next video and will use your valuable advice on presentation to help people digest details more easily.

Great vid Jimi. If you are making it as a bit of a tutorial then talking about how and why would help and maybe some time lapse sped up of you welding with the pictures as well. You did a great job on the door :)

Very good enjoyed that ,I also would not have tried to fill holes that big. but I'm going to try that on one off the J4 rear door frames. look forward to next one.
