I am mad, welcome me in...

Great work:cool:
Did you replace the cab roof?
No it was to far gone so I just replaced the inner peak and gutter. I'm going to fabricate a shelf/roof over the cab as it's a great place to store bulky light weight items such as bedding. I was thinking about using a colourful perspex as the light through the top window is great

Will the lack of roof affect the rigidity of the van (not that I suspect the original was providing much)?
That's what I was thinking so I've welded sections of angle iron all around the top and then I'm going to brace it together with the cab shelf frame. Although your right the original was doing absolutely nothing. It does seem to handle solid enough so I'm thinking that the rear door frame, windscreen frame and all the floor sections are more than enough, it would be interesting to know what Martin thinks

I's a bit like a shoebox without the lid, the bottom is rigid but the top will flex a bit. Maybe an idea to put a fillet in each corner and call them shelves:)

Hi and welcome Rich, looks like you've got quite a project on your hands. You'll be doing for the love of Commers. Good luck.

Great pics Rich. Yoda will be a beauty when done and at least you'll know there are no more surprises- well except for the engine, unless you're rebuilding that too! Great to see another Coaster. :)
