Hubcaps

Hi all just a quick one. Just had all my tyres done as they were very old. So as its newish to me clean slate and all that. 3 miles later and a missing hubcap, blooming tyre fitters. I have got 4 that came in box of bits but will need rechroming. So my qu is get a new set or re do the tatty ones?

I went back and had a look on my bike. But fair shout i may walk back up and have another look. If only it had fallen of on a bowling green lol

Ahh. I heard a noise and found that but no hubcap. At least i can narrow down the distance though. Thank you

Devon lane. opposite side stone wall. Missing side nettles brambles and hawthorn, which was fun. Also a rat run so abandoned search before i get killed in rush hour. Spent an hour on a half mile stretch. Will try further back but wierd if hub came off that early. Car was following and said hubcap. Maybe a theiving magpie?

Try a green scrubbing pad and WD40 on your old hub caps, it's amazing how they can come up.

A couple don't really have any smooth chrome left lol

I have a couple that are pitied but wire wool gets them presentable.

The new ones are meant to be abit crap like most new chrome and they're not cheap. However rechroming properly is v expensive too

Mmmm i will have to give it some thought. I wonder what they would look like if gloss painted. Ever seen painted hubs?

The hub caps on Carter the pick up are painted and look good.

Cool. That will be better than trying to re chrome. I may take the embelleshers off. Wheels need a repaint so they are cream without rust.

I used a flapper disc to remove the rust. Coat of primer and coat of gloss.
