Is there a knack to putting the hubcaps back on without denting them??

I locate two of the lugs under the rim of the hub cap first then give a good thump with the palm of my hand over the third, usually works:I Also the cap will have indents where the lugs have been pressing into them so turn the cap around until you can see them line up.

I too dented one of mine the first time i tried,:I then i picked up a copy of the owners manual and realised its actually pretty easy.Panky has hit the nail "cap" on the head.
Locate on two lugs then turn the cap and give it a slap!.
We recently had new tyres fitted and im sure there are more dents in the caps now than before the tyre shop had it[!]
So maybe take them off and put back on yourself if a trip to the tyre fitter is in stall.
Wherever we roam,
