how do I turn the heat down?

Without bothering my dad, is there a simple way during the summer months, I can turn the heat off from the engine bay into the cab? I seem to remember on a previous meet, someone mentioned they were cold on a run so lifted up the engine lid and switched the heat on? Can I switch it off? I moaned to dad last year it was freezing and heating works, but I'm like a roast chicken when I go anywhere. Any ideas? Xx

Yes you can, the tap is on top of the engine. You will see a hose coming off the tap, turn it 90 degrees to shut it off, it might be a bit tight.

Lift the engine lid up and switch it off again? they'll be a brass valve sticking out the top of the cylinder head with a pipe running off it. That'll do the trick

Thank you both so much. That made a MASSIVE difference on the way back. That won't cause the engine to overheat will it?

Keep your eye on the engine temperature, it may run a little higher but be vigilant - especially in traffic. Any problems turn it back on and open the windows;)
