Hot starting problem

Well done Rupert :)
Sounds like you need to change the needle for a leaner one, as well as mounting the coil in a bucket of liquid nitrogen ;)
If you have access to a colourtune, then see how it,s running on idle and adjust the jet in 1/8-1/4 turns until it,s right. Then try another needle :)

well we're back from a night away in Northumbria with Ruairdhdunford and the Scottish Austin 7 club. It was a last minute decision to go and I was all ready to give up if there was problems. Anyway we made it really easily! the round trip was about 150 miles and the hot starting problem didn't appear at all (we stopped a couple of times on the way) the torque was great, it was a real joy down the a roads with hte overdrive

the only problem was I managed to use 7/8th of a tank of fuel which is about 20mpg! I thought I was supposed to be improving things!

that said, I was cruising at about 60 on the A1 on the way home )

thanks again for all the help.

just got the MOT to sort on Saturday now!

Rupert

thanks mate. Bit nervous at the moment! Especially as I can't do much in the way of pre-mot checks as the neighbor gave me a bollocking the other day about the noise when I'm working on the cars (
