hi all im new to this forum and have just been reading some of the threads and must say i have picked up some useful info on these vans. at the moment i am looking for a commer van after remembering baqck to my child hood being dragged around britain in 1 of these vans with 7 others.
At the present i have 2 vivas a 1970 hb deluxe and a 1969 gt but hope to of sorted a camper within the next 2 years.
Things that us newbees need too know are what sort of price should we be looking at say for a condition 2 got mot and a runner but needs tidying?
What parts are hard to sorce?

your meet in july would it be possible to come and have a look around and meet some of you chaps and lasses even if im not in a van?

hi and welcome to the madhouse:) what you need to do is send an email to panky as he is the one selling the tickets;) you wont be the only one there without a commer so no worries:)

Hi Flod, Welcome , Welcome , Welcome to the Maaaaad house. :D
I'm one of the lasses on here, I know nothing about buying Commers, but there will be plenty of help for you on here.

We bought one unseen and it's the best thing we ever did, although we don't suggest that's the best way of buying one.

Another best that we did, was joining this madhouse.

Commerfest will be good fun, Panky will be along soon, when he gets out from the back of the garage.

Price for condition 2 depends on the model and year as well, the PA's and PB's seem to go for more than the coachbuilt models, although they vary in price as well. Sorry that's probably not much help :I

Debs, I think we both shelled out a fair amount for ours, even though they are coachbuilt.. :I

Suppose its a bit like most classics it all depends what the buyer wants to spend. Mrs sez it will have to be a PA or PB as Im planning on building a carport for a van to live in and as I live in a bungalow she doesnt want a carport higher than the roof.
She has already had first dabs on the driving even before Ive bought 1, she sez I will have to stick to the Gt, I cant get her to go anywhere in it she hates it, it is a bit noisy, she even followed me to Billing last weekend in her eurotrash and moaned about the noise.
Looking forward to meeting some of you at commerfest.

but neither am i so i suppose it could just be me she doesnt like driving with. I ve looking round this forum iand have found some of the chat really useful. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing some of you at commerfest,
