Hello all, yes iam new here but not new to Commers. Ive owned a Rootes group 1.5 ish ton walkthrough Kchn.... 4 pot petrol motorcaravan, self converted since 1982. fitted kitchen 5k log stove ,solar panels 1kva geni. sat tv. lived in her for 28 yrs. have refitted out and made rd legal again 2 yrs ago.... its in a body shop just now after being hit at high speed up the real by a crazy taxi driver coming of A21 into a side rd where it was parked so got nearly written orf. but ive managed to get the insurence co to get repairs done..... craf parkfm.jpg

Looks to be the flat panel and roller door mainly so hopefully it will be easily sorted.
Got to admire you living in it for so long, must have felt like someone crashing into your house when it happened. Just been admiring the set of cloths on the washing line - pajamas or your usual daily attire? :)

Hi Soupdragon...It was parked in rd nearby when hit one sunday evening ive a flat now and was making tea when someone knocked 8pm and told me a taxi had run into my wagon. he lost control at high speed and rammed into it.. id just refitted a sat tv system and recovered all the wall and roof etc. it was a runner and mot ed. anyway the recovery firm have been very helpful and one of the body shop guys is going to repair the metal work prob replace the shutter with panel and caravan door etc....hes keen as its a classic van and used to working on heavy goods commercial wagon repairs. so thats good. i could have taken the insurance money and ran but ive had her since 1982 would be a shame to loose her. i actually lived for a while in her for 28 yrs. and the last 5 yrs overhauling her . .. heres a pic of happier days. yrs Cosmic john.

Hello dodgeram...thanks for welcome. yes work has started repairing her, insurance 3rd party have agreed to a sum that should pay for the body work think ill have to do the kitchen and pant work...visit too B and Q. prob'.....the actual value of my Commer was a issue as its a Rootes group 1970 walkthrough Kchn chassi Pre Dodge and rather rare and a rd runner mot ed. etc. Any ideas of value... seen similar for sale?..i shall be in contact with repairers all the time much TLC needed. yrs Cosmic John.

Ha ha clothes festival stuff. thats parked up on camp site for a while .. mostly i stayed on rich friends land or wild touring and farms. at this time i have managed to get a flat....do to fact i was paying council tax when renting a mobile home when evected i claimed housing help and being a then pensioner and body a bit sick managed to get a place. of course kept my time machine sri naga vimarna ( dragon craft) chariot. and in spare time worked on her bringing her back to rd use a a few camp outs.... when repairs finneshed by body shop i will refit a galley and trim etc replace sat tv. and continue to tittyvate. as one should on such a nice old motor. prob go to some classic shows. The plan is to replace shutter with panels and old caravan door most practical and cheapest option , could look nice. + fit calour gas sealed cover unit. like modern units.not sure where to get though. thanks for txt see you later yrs cosmic john.

yes a new one and putting gas bottle in sealed frame with outside door is the plan. fortuanatly i wasn't working inside when it got hit by a crazy taxi driver just parked around corner .... work has now started on repairs. yrs cosmic john.

Hi Soupdragon....had her to long and she to special and my PSC....(personal survival craft) to let her go. if the s.... hits the fan i can survive in her. be snug n warm and cook on stove etc. log powered with solar panels . 12v sat n dtv .
