has anyone else fitted one or is it to stupid !
the engine is resting in place but very tight potential problems
seem to be exhaust manifolds will be very tight to engine block & bodywork.
not much room for engine mounts, alternator and air filter housing project
above engine
also is there a disc brake conversion
thanks ian

Hi Ian and welcome to the Madhouse:)
It has been done, and successfully with an LPG conversion too, but the Essex is a heavy old lump (Rover V8 is a lot lighter and more economical) but if you've got it then go for it. It's very tight in a Commer engine bay and as you've found you need to be creative to get a bigger engine in. I'll see if I can track down any info on the conversion, it was on the old forum so don't hold out too many hopes.
Our parts guru, Martin Maltas, is developing a disc brake kit but not ready for use yet.
