Hi all, newbie here

Hi,

Ive been thinking about some kind of camper for ages. I dont want to have to pay the VW scene tax. I dont want anything modern. Commers seem to fit the bill to me!

I'm really interested in the jennings camper conversions as of the conversions Ive seen, they look the nicest! I have no idea on whether the conversions themselves are any good so thats where you guys come in!

Lastly whats the engine bay dimensions? I've got a 2.5 litre, DOHC 90 degree v6 sat in the back of my garage which I think could be a VERY adequate powerplant!

Hi, welcome to the mad house :D
over to the boys on the tech stuff Im afraid :I
not sure which v6, but sure dozer has that covered :D
Ran is an autosleeper, sleeps 2 + 2 dogs comfortably with 2 bunks for younger teenagers/children...Room for a kids bunk over cab seats bit like the vw arangement really :I
If your looking for more space then the jennnings or ci motorhomes are bigger....or add an awning/tent
Hope thats some help, good luck with the search :)

Size sounds spot on! It would mostly be for me when going to car shows. I hate tents

Whats the plated weight of them for towing does any one know?

An auto sleeper should be plenty big enough for you [8D]you can party in a jennings/highwayman or motorhome I actually think there is less room in a jennings than in the highwayman or ci motorhome ?

Check out dozers postings, he fitted a Cologne V6 into his camper, very successful.

Hi and welcome:) - good luck with the van hunting, commers definitely a better value buy than the VWs - and are very practical useable campers. There are less around so are more original too - but are partly more rare because of the dreaded rust monster so bear that in mind when you're viewing;) Mine is also an autosleeper which is fine for space (wider than VW without gert great engine taking up living space so much better layout for using regularly) I do love the Jennings too - very pretty and even more space again if there needs to be some serious cat swinging going on:D
