HFB 287G Lulu and her history

Hi Les popped over to Woolfy's yesterday whilst visiting family, your van is coming on a treat. We picked up an overdrive gearbox for our van, which is back in Biggin having the paintwork redone due to cracking of sealant and rust appearing, can't wait to see what a difference he gearbox will make once we have the van back and hubby has had the time to fit it. If your van was originally yellow then changed to white, what colour are you having her sprayed? Our Colin KKK was changed from white to cream and tyrolean green. :):)

oh dear that seems a shame Jackie, especially as your colin worked so hard putting in the long hours, rubbing it down and getting it into bare metal, ready for painting. im sure it can be put right though. oh and thanks for the custom yesterday, and the bag of goodies. see you at the next www.coventrycommerpanels.co.uk national meet:(:p:D.

Jackie just to let you know that Lulu started off yellow and she was restored in 1998 or sometime about then and she was painted white, but my last commer was green and being a sentimental old fool that's the colour that Woolfy's doing her for me,but you'll have to ask him what shade it is. Anyway I'm hoping to go to Woolfy's meet next year, so I can show off with her as she'll be the best one there.

That will be gr8 les. And yes Woolfy it is a shame as Colin KKK looks beaut in his new livery but you can't help it if you get faulty materials from the manufacturers, I hope you don't encounter this. Mr M has to rectify this now so he is going to be the one losing out unless he takes the manufacturers to task. I am led to believe that someone else has experienced this recently also. So I will wait with a keen eye to see your new livery on LuLu Les.:):D

That must be a big disappointment Jackie, having to have your van redone due to faulty material?. Woolfy I do hope that you use a reputable firm for the material you use on Lulu as I think I've had enough hassle with Lulu to last a life time and I don't want to be driving to Coventry again.

Woolfy, am I glad that Lulu went to you when she did, it means that I will no doubt get some good use from her. I had some bad news from the hospital yesterday and start the treatment on Monday. But it is so unnecessary as it could have been triggered by the stress of being ripped off. Fortunately I have a positive view on life and hope to be using Lulu for another 50 years.

Les,A super speedy recovery and all the best wishes for you this XMAS.:)

Hi David, no the decimal point is in the right place, I've paid Woolfy another £2000 since then but I've no problems with that.
The total amount that I have paid is £25575.80 although I'm expecting to recover about £9000 of that.

Wow. I bet that sort of bill would put me (or maybe the person that gave it to me) in hospital too. I seem to have missed the story of how your Commer has cost you so much. Did you simply get ripped off by some clowns who didn't really know what they were getting into?

Hi Glen. You could definitely say I was ripped off and skinned alive but not by somebody who didn't know what he was doing, this person knew exactly what he was doing[:(!][:(!]

Les, we know you are upset but I for one would ask you please to keep the past issues with Lulu between you and the other party off the forum - if it's getting legal then you're not doing yourself any favours. Let's keep things nice and friendly eh :)

You certainly did:I But we've seen these things degrade into quite nasty and embarrassing rants in the past[V] If members have issues with other members then it's between them - I don't think anyone else wants to get involved in private disputes.
