Hi and Welcome to the forum.
I know next to nothing I'm afraid, but I am sure one of the more knowledgeable forum member will be along before too long. Nice looking van tho, what are you planning to do to it?

Hi Macabre, welcome to the forum - good to hear from you.
Van looks really good, some of the trouble spots for look for rusting out are amongst others -door bottoms, floor pans, around the peak above the cab, lower bits of corners, heater boxes and wheel arches (where you found a naughty bit)
But have to say yours does appear to be solid:D[8D]

One useful source of info to help with what your van would be is
http://www.allpar.com/squads/spacevan.html
which gives good descriptions which you can use to tick off what your van has.

very nice van indeed,i just wish i had found it over here in england, there isnt that many vans around over here you see, if you do need any panels making you know where i am.:p:(

yeah plans are to get it back on the road before the end of the year, prob a quick satin black paintjob, black tinted windows and lowered on some widened steel wheels. Later on i want to get the body as stright as i can and paint it baby blue with white roof.

wow both of the rides look great, how much did you pay for the green van if you dont mind me asking, and also has your mate lowered his camper to make it a low rider and how did he do it e.g what method has he used, those wheels and tyres look cool aswell on his ride, any chance of some more pictures of both the rides please.:p;):)

Holy sheeit last post in 2007! My apologies.

I actually did some work on this and used it, then it sat around in storage getting sad for a few years.... We recently moved out lockups so dragged it out ot give it some love and hopefully get it running sweet again. I may need some help sourcing parts :)

Heres some pics for you

It's been a while [:0]. Great to see you got it sorted, it looks fantastic [^]

Hiya, um im looking at some of those electronic dizzy conversions on TM at the moment to see if i can get it running better, but generally just needs maintenance stuff eh. Gonna do a compression check and if the motor is ok do the timing chain and water pump recore radiator etc. I would love some chrome bumpers if you have some spare I missed out on an auction for some a while ago cos my ph couldn't get the internet where I was and have been kicking myself ever since! Also would like an overdrive box hahah.

Probably a tall order eh!

Sweet, I've been looking at those electronic dizzy's too. It would be good if you let us know how they work out. I've got chrome rear bumpers that I was going to paint to match the front. It seems a bit dumb to paint over chrome, so I could do a swap for your painted ones if you want. I haven't got anything chrome for the front though. Is your van certed for the lowering?

No I have not taken it for cert, I imagine it would be a nightmare with the multitude of linkages the steering uses and the play that is resultant and the brakes how they are etc. The springs are captive in the front and I just took a few leaves out of the back so have had no worries with wofs for that. Ill dig my rears out and see what shape they are in, from memory they were fine.
