Hello. Been looking around on this site for a while now so thought I would sign up. Been looking around for a commer van project to do up and a mate of mine knows of one that is sat on a drive way near his house so i am planning on knocking on the door to see if they want to sell it.

Any way my names Jon or Leaky as I am known. I am 21 and live in Basingstoke just wondered if there was anyone local on here:

Anyway other then a brief encounter with a very rotten beetle I have only really owned minis I fancy something different that I can go holidaying in and have always liked commers. So thats why I am here I guess.

a big coincidence but could I have seen your mini city shell on the back of a wagon today on my way up to Cumbria...think it may have been the A1 at the time. Guess there's a few being restored though.

Thanks. Urrm my mini is uo in Towcester well thats were the body work was done I know they do the painting somewhere else but that seems unlikely it would have been mine.

Finger crossed this one my mate knows about is for sale haha

Ohhhhhhhhhhh Mini's - you will fit in very well. I love em, got a '91 Cooper residing sadly in my garage awaiting just the little bit of love it needs to get moving again. Here it is a few years ago after I'd restored it.

Welcome to the nut house from another Mini nut. Unfortunately I had to sell my 81 Clubby estate to fund my van.:(

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.
 
Apparently there is one in the garden of a house next to Basingstoke football ground. If you come from B&Q direction its the last house on the right before the roundabout. I habent seen it although I frequent that area as the inlaws live in Hook. I have no idea of condition or whether its for sale though.

Hey Leaky! We're very local! I live in Alton, with a 74 commer, and Admin and his gf Minky also live there - he's got a modified PA with a V8 in it.

I'm in the Middle East for work right now, and Admin is on holiday in the US, but, give us a couple of weeks, and I'm sure we can all catch up!

I'm back... not for long though! taxing trip to Costa Rica for "work" coming up :) good to find another local face

We'll have a meet-up and get sumbeamsam over from Farnhamish too
 
Yea that will be cool. I would love to have a proper look over a comer as I have a few questions I would like answered and a few things I want to look at.
 
Well went to look at a commer sat on a drive way in high Wycombe. Looked like a good project so had a knock on the door but sadly no answer. Left a note with my number so hopfully I'll get a call. My mate lives near by so is gonna knock again in the week.

Good luck with acquiring the van, that's exactly how we got ours,;) It may take some persuasion as most people are reluctant to let them go these days. Took us 3 weeks to convince the owner of ours to part with it.
It was a project he meant to start twenty years earlier but never got round to it.
Probably find a similar situation with yours.
