HERE WE GO..!!! 1977 Pick up

Excellent work, looking forward to the pics[8D]
The manifold studs can be a pain on the exhaust side, usually you'll get a couple that wont budge or, even worse, shear off[xx(] Start soaking them in penetrating oil (not WD40 it evaporates before it does anything) for a few days before you plan the job to give you a head start.
Snake skin - yuck, have you had the fuel pump apart to check for debris?

SO THIS IS THE REAR DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THOSE LIGHTS ARE THEY DONT SEEM ORIGNAL TO ME LIKE SOMEONES BODGED THEM ON????

SO AFTER READING POSTS I GOT MYSELF A K&N FILTER FITTED IT WHICH HAS IMPROVED THINGS BUT HAVENT COMPLETLY REMOVED THE OLD FILTER DUE TO THIS BLACK FLEXI PIPE AND NOT SURE WHAT IT IS??

2015213234956_Flexi Pipe Old air filter.jpg

THE FLEXI PIPE COMES FROM LOWER PART OF THE ENGINE THROUGH A LARGE BOWL THING THEN TO THE AIR FILTER...WHATS IT FOR?

Nice wheels[8D]Stick a couple of paving slabs in the back, that will drop it a bit and improve traction;)
Oh dear, I think you need a new fuel pipe and breather:I
The flexi pipe to the air filter is a crankcase breather, all the nasty fumes are normally drawn into the fitter and burned in the engine. Just take it off the old filter and poke it down towards the ground - but don't kink it or you will pressurise the block and cause oil leaks. The other thing you pictured looks like a hot take off point for the filter air inlet, used for the winter months to draw warm air into the carb - ditch it:)

They can be repaired but probably best looking for a decent second hand one - if such a thing exists:I

COMMERCHRIS.

what mini heater did you buy do you have a link?

I have been looking closer and sorting my fuel tank and if i cant get one made, im going to try and recoat the inside of the old one.!!!

looking at this kit from frosts.

http://www.frost.co.uk/automotive-car-bike-maintenance/automotive-tanks-products/por15-basic-car-tank-repair-kit.html

any experience with this?

my only concern atm is the fuel line from the tank has a threaded connector it looks like it will never go back on once removed/break.!!

what do i do if this happens can i fashion something more modern like fuel line and jubilee clips?? any advise would be great thanks

I wouldn't try to undo the nut connection on the tank, just cut the pipe leaving yourself enough sticking out to join it with a short length of fuel line and hose clips.
Tim (commeracer) does a mean line in ally fuel tanks:)

I think all Mini heaters are pretty much the same apart from the water connection positions which can easily be catered for.
