Help required Ref: HORN
Totally stripped, cleaned everything seems to work as it should... But NO beep beep!... Is there a live feed I'm missing?.. As I've checked purple/blk "horn wire" but get nothing... Can someone shed some light on what might be wrong?...
Thx

Hi. Where is the earth for the horn?...as only 4 wires? Come off indicators+horn before joining loom

It
There is a permanent live to the horn, it then earths back thru the horn button.
I must have s issue somewhere with the Earth as put direct live feed from battery last night still nothing.... I'll have a goose at it tonight & keep you posted. Thx Martin

Hi Martin. If it's not one thing it's another!... I've got main lights but NO high beam any ideas?....

May be a silly thing to say but have you checked that the horn does actually work. Wired +ve and -ve to battery

When mine packed in, the three spring clips on the back of the horn button assembly were reduced to two and a bit by rust action. The two remaining clips were corroded sufficiently enough to not allow the passage of live electricity to ground. A new clip fixed it.

Hi Martin. If it's not one thing it's another!... I've got main lights but NO high beam any ideas?....
Check for green corrosion in the connecting block as well as the dip switch (if the same as on mine) had a similar issue, swapped switches etc. And turned out to be corrosion after cleaning up the connectors all good again

Hi All. Horn assembly is spotless... It's like polished copper!...Everything is as it should be but don't work.... As for the horn itself its brand new & does work I wired it direct to battery via a switch. But again it don't work via the horn on the steering wheel.
The headlight issue is the only outstanding issue... I've got lights but don't know which? No dip to high/low... I might be a numpty?... But is it possible to put the connections on the lights the wrong way round?... I've not checked tonight as its been tipping it down here tonight BUT the high beam blue light is on when lights on, so I'm thinking stuck on high beam? ( I do have a blue wire not going to anything & blue/white is looped to get lights to work) Everything else works now & has had a complete re-wire... Any ideas that might help would be grateful as I've got a MOT in 10 days Hmmm

Would a contiuity test work on the horn wiring? If the horn works and the switch works and the live wire to horn works could you make a -ve wire back to a good point on chassis/battery??

UW is blu/wht and UR is blu/red if thats any help. The only blue wire,U, goes frop dip switch to lighting/ignitoin switch

Thx Dragon. I'm going to double check & test everything again... I'll also V-wire off main live & bypass to see what happens.... POOF , SMOKE & FLAMES lol I'll post results later today. Thx

I've got a genuine workshop manual.... Problem is it's had SO MANY modifications & repairs on the wiring over the years NO 2 wires when connected are the same colour anymore... I've cut back everything & totally rewired & marked up with tags. As for dip switch I've no idea where that is?...but there is a relay box thingy mergiggy someone's added under dash & the 6 wires from that go nowhere. I'll do some pics... Just getting motivated

Top image gets lights to work if I loop solid blue into blue/white .
Blue/red NO idea.....

Middle image is a add?...which live feed to horn goes to after that who knows...

Bottom image x2 blue/white & blue/green NO idea, light related but do nothing....
