Hello all,

This is our first posting, we have had our PB camper for around 8 years but took her off the road two years ago for a quick resto! All the body work is now complete paint all done and looking good. We are looking for a replacement chrome front bumper, am guessing they are pretty rare? I am considering making a fibreglass one but am struggling to find anyone that can do chrome hot vinyl wrap or in an ideal world a good chrome one. Also looking for good chrome wheel trims and some advice on what to do with the driver and passenger seats, rubbers underneath are shot and consequently foam has deterioted beyond repair, vinyl is all good ( if a little faded) all help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to have her back on the road for a cosy warm up camp before Christmas, fingers crossed.

8 years and you've only just found us, where have you been:eek: Where in the country are you? Martin Maltas may be able to help with the bumper and universal seat diaphragms may be the answer to you seat woes, here's an example. You will probably need to drill some holes in the frame but shouldn't be too much of a problem, if they are the standard seats then ordinary upholstery foam will probably do to re-stuff them.

Mthanks for your reply. We have been following the forum since we got the van but never got round to posting. Still am glad we have finally. We are in Cornwall the van was originally from Norfolk I believe but has been down here for at least 10 years. And still only on 34k miles.

Have spoken with Martin re the bumpers but no joy he has however been a great help with panels etc, am going to order all the seals tomorrow exciting times ! Thanks for the link to the seat diaphragms will look into them, have you used them?

Perfect, all looks pretty straight forward. Interesting to see you used the floor insulation for the panel padding, just done the same thing today. My seats are the same as your ones, any further tips on the stuffing? Might try building up in layers or cutting the foam to try and keep the shape, what do you think ?cheers Dan ps will post some pics tomorrow.
 
I used the cushions from the original seats to stuff the Alpine ones. They were just square blocks of Dunlopillow with a rubber backing. They are a bit thick but then I'm a heavy kind of guy:)
The layering up sounds good, you can build in some side bolsters to give a bit of shape.
