Help Please....! Running problems :o(

Hey, I'm looking for some advice, and it would be greatly appreciated!!

My van starts perfectly, then drives great but when it's warmed up it intermittently looses power, it starts chugging along, when I try and pull away from stopped and press the accelerator it doesn't rev, it's like it's got air intake issues? Then if I rev it more it will rev up but when pulling away i have to rev it allot and control the clutch so it doesn't kangaroo..... This issue eventually clears.

Any ideas? I'm stuck and had a trip planned this weeks so really want to get it fixed !

Any help would be great :)

It could be any number of things from fuel starvation to a dodgy coil:I But speaking from my own experience with a similar problem I'd check the plug leads first - I had one that was failing and giving similar symptoms to what you described. Mini ones fit perfectly:)

The plugs, leads and distributer were all replaced with a new electronic system.... I'll check them tho.

Check your leads in the dark and look for any arcing. It sounds like a possible fuel issue though.

What electronic system are you using? If it is simon bbc
what coil are you using? They dont work with sports coil

Check any old rubber fuel lines. I had a similar sounding problem on my first car, which ended up being that the old rubber fuel lines had shrunken internally. Problem was exaggerated when they got hot and expanded slightly internally and externally. The fuel lines looked fine externally, and sitting in traffic it wasn't a problem. once you put the foot down the motor would start to die and when you eased off or stopped and idled the float bowl would refill and away you went again. The fuel lines in this case were cloth reinforced black rubber and were around 10-15 years old. Once changed I never had the problem again.
