As a very general rule of thumb, cutting out eg at traffic lights is fuel related, mis-firing is ignition component related. From your description I would suggest condenser.

Barrys advice is definitely the way to go:
My advice would be to replace one item at atime with a run out to test it. That way you should be able to identify the culprit. If you change everything in one go you'll be none the wiser.
And its good to know what went wrong as quite often unless its just wear and tear (old age) the same thing can go wrong again if there is an underlieing problem behind it.

yh thats he plan mate. the first thing i want to do is try the timing, she seems a bit racey on tickover and after a while she smells a tad petrolly lol. im thinking she may be running to far advanced so gonna try that the leads/plugs/rotor arm/cap and electronic ignition kit as im not so sure my probs arent being caused by my silly little add on box :D
