HELP!! engine needed

hi guys i havn't been on here for a few months but i'm in need of some help. i've just been told my engine is extremely corroded after i filled the whole town full of smoke and steam. Apparently there is nothing that can be done apart from a replacement engine.
Does anybody know where i can maybe get one from and how much this would cost. My van has cost me a fortune over the past few months but to have to get rid of it would kill me.:(

no thats ok there is no major rush, i'm just really gutted because i've just had the best part of £700 worth of work done, new dizzy, core plugs, and loads of other little bits, i was told the van would be fine until i got a few miles up the road and it looked like it was on fire. I took it to my mates garage and he said the engine was totaly corroded on the water jacket.i dont know why thay did the work if they new it was that bad, bas**rds. My pb is my pride and joy.
If you could let me know as and when you can mate that'd be great.

Is it the whole engine (block and head) or just the head?

Worth keeping an eye on eBay for other 1725 engines. You may be able to pick up a more desirable one and use yours for any PB specific parts like end plates etc.

Don't really know the frst thing about engines, would this fit straight into my pb highwayman. If so I suppose its worth a bid, in the mean time if anyone else has any offers let me know

They are all basically the same, but you would have to swap about a few bits to suit the commer.

well i've got a mate doing it for me and i dont think he knows too much about commers, if you think it will be simple enough for him then i'll put in a bid.

Bargain[8D]
It will go in but like we said you will need to swap a few bits and bobs around with your old Commer engine. Do you know if it's got an alloy head.

Not to worry, if it has got an alloy head then it's a bonus[8D] It just makes fitting the exhaust a little bit more time consuming.
