Heater airbox

I'm seeking a decent / repairable airbox for the heater unit as mine is totally shot :( Any offers or suggestions folks ?

I promise to take good care of it and squeeze my bulb regularly :)

Until then I've gaffer taped up the front vent hole to keep out the elements
 
Can't help with an air box but i'm going to have a go at repairing mine also try and refabricate the actual flap assembly as it's really rotten.The drain neck has also got to be reconstructed.
I'll let you know how i fair as the likelyhood of aquireing one that doesn't need repairing is almost nil.

Would be very interested in your efforts as it is definitely on my list of things to do. Lots of detailed pics would be very useful.
 
you could try Vehicle Wiring Products who do a cab heater plus De-froster kit, which would replace the old unit... bit pricey at £155 + £33 (and these prices might be out of date).

Failing that you could go to a scrappy and pull a box out of another (non Commer) van
 
You may even be able to fit a Mini heater. The Mini connection strikes again :).
 
Unfortunately it's not the heater thats the problem, it's the airbox it bolts to.
I doubt you would be lucky enough to find one thats not in need of repairs from a breakers also does anyone know what if any airboxes you could use from another vehicle?

I think it's behind the large grill at the front of van,long black rubber with a bulb at the bottom (no I am not being rude):Inot sure how to get best access to it [?]removal of grill[?]or from in the cab [?]
 
You just put your hand underneath and up through to the front and give it a good squeeeeeeeze!!!!!!:D:D:D Dozer did mine:D

not sure that chopsticks will fit through the grill :Imaybe I should just take the grill off [:eek:)]can it be accessed from the cab [?]
 
I can see I have led a sheltered life, and have a feeling my bulb will need squeezing, does anyone have any photos to show me or are they too rude:I
 
thanks for the pic kes. If you look through the grille you will see your bulb. its in the middle of the grille but towards the bottom. its about an inch and half wide.[^][^]
