Bonjour Gang!
Not been on for maybe 5/6 months.. just been a bit busy!! You know what it's like. Anyway, how is everyone? All good I hope.
Got prompted to write something as I finally got around to getting 'Wilma' started yesterday. She hadn't being running since I drove up to South Wales last September during that really hot/dry spell we had. We drove over 200 miles to the campsite nr Brecon, then she just wouldn't start again, and had to get the AA to get us home. Anyway, it turned out that all it was, was that the distributor clamp ring(?) that holds the thing together properly (about half way down), and seats it correctly in the block, had allowed it to move up slightly, causing the dizzy to not engage with the drive. Thus she just fired intermittantly... and wouldn't start. Sounds obvious I know, but it had been fine for the last 8 years, so why would you notice it..? Certainly 2 AA chaps didn't spot it!? Anyway, all good news then... speak again soon!! Ray
