Gutt(er)ed !

We got caught out by a speed bump over xmas :( and in addition to our usual 'Commer dandruff' (ie. light rust flakes) dropping down the windscreen from the front over-hang, we had an unfortunate heavy shower of lumps of filler and the remaining 'metal' !

We can now see just poor our front gutter and overhang are, the gutter is now detached at the osf corner and we've hardly any overhang remaining :(

I'm not sure if our Hi-Tor fibreglass top hinders or provides more options for repairs - I've pasted a link if you're not familar with this conversion. Any thoughts folks ?

If you look thru the later pages of the detector van resto, you can see the makeup of the front peak. I had to cut off part of the roof to put a new peak in [:0] Unfortunately your fibreglass roof will seriously hinder the repair [xx(]

Many thanks Martin, that's what I was fearing but I was trying to stay optimistic ;)

I've taken a look at your great piece on your detector van, absolute fantastic stuff - it looks a real labour of love !

I do see you've a lovely new front peak panel which looks like what must be the last NOS panel existing ;)(or is it a Woolfy special ?)

Will take a closer at ours look this weekend to see whether the peak can be patched again, as it's a tad drafty a the moment ;) Good to get an appreciation of the construction from your pics

Ta !

im pretty sure i could make you a repair section as long as i know which bit you need exactly and how much of it you need,a close up photo of the effected area would help, get back in touch.if you want you can call me on 02476 758814 or email me the photo to [email protected] .;)

Thanks for your note Woolfy, hopefully I'll have the time to take a closer look at the damage this weekend and will take some photos and get back to you.

However I'm hoping to require at only the complete front peak as per Martin's piccy of his detector van http://66.129.69.181/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=108&whichpage=5&SearchTerms=detector. Plus the front gutter ...

But realistically it's bound to be more :( and then there's how I manage with my fibreglass roof :(:( Then if it has to come off it might be worthwhile me checking all the gutters and replacing where necessary.

I'm saving up all already !

As you say, it was a very rare nos panel, I had to repair the old gutter and the windscreen surround is also nos :p
