Summer's here.....
So they say

saw that and it looks interesting, its literally opposite the old rootes factory where it was built,
could be a story there on how a lhd car ended up so close to its birthplace
let me know if you need bits as ive got wings, doors, chrome.all new and some second hand bits including lower tail gate and hens teeth petrol tank

Thanks steve. Undoubtedly it belonged to a now deceased owner who's probably had it from new. How much history I'll get with it is something else. It "looks" reasonably solid. However, at the very least it's going to need a new front bumper. I'm collecting it tomorrow, so we shall see.... photos to follow.

Here are the first photos. It's not quite as solid as I had hoped, as it has some very interesting pop-riveted aluminium sills on it that are going to have to come off. Also, some rust coming through in the corners - but the wings are in very good condition. Tomorrow I will be seeing if I can get the engine running. At least I managed to inflate the 4 flat tyres, having to take two of them off to be able to inflate them. Also took me a while to find neutral on the auto box. So, another project to get underway, once I have finished welding up my client's Sunbeam Alpine series 1 (which he claims was in Dr No....).

So, the car is more or less sound, just have to see what's behind the pop rivet sills.

Is this the standard carb? I am not sure about that - or about the manifold.....

I wouldn't worry about the wrong shade of blue Andy, you've put modern air in the tyres now so originality isn't an issue.

If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

Yes, but the modern air isn't what it used to be, and three of the three are going down again.

Also, on of the valves is stuck open, so the engine is not a runner, at least for now.

hi thats definetly not the original carb set up think thats off a hunter. if you need any sills drop me an email as ive got a spare set as there the same as the vogue.

Andy, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make yours as nice as this one:

Got the V5 back today. I am the second owner of the minx, the previous owner having bought it new in 1964. Why he bought a left hand drive minx, I still don't know.
