Gearbox issues...

Apologies guys, but as just got it on the road after surgery a few teething troubles.

As with the old gearbox 3rd gear is somewhere in the dashboard and a real bugger to find, even have to miss it out completely sometimes. First gear is tight too but goes in I guess cause the dash isn't in the way.
I presume its the adjustmentlinkage but anyone any ideas what bit to adjust and which way? I guess it's not the bar with the ball joints as that's left and right isn't it?
I have already fitted new bushings from Martin so it's all tight there.

Thanks all

Jim

Where the long rod from the gear lever meets the cross linkage, there is a square block with a rubber gaiter either end. Take out the nut and bolt connecting the two. The block will then rotate on a screw thread. Turn it anti clockwise, try 2 turns. This will bring the gear lever away from the dash.

One thing to check is if the little ball joint on the end of the selector rod is hitting the gearbox mount. I had this on Bonnie and getting first and second was a pain, just turned it around half a turn so the threaded end of the ball joint was facing forward and now it works perfectly:)

Sorry Martin, all hail you too of course, I thought it was only Panky that answered. Will be trying that tomorrow.
